India's Agni-punch!! ICBM maiden test successful

As Agni-V was launched from off the coast of Odhisha at 8.07 am the expectations of a billion-strong nation hung on it and eyes from across the globe followed its trajectory. The nuclear-tipped three-stage missile successfully took off from Balasore and successfully covered 5,000 kms before hitting its splash point across the Indian Ocean.

Here is the statement from the Defence Ministry spokesperson Sitanshu Kar -
"The Defence Minister Shri AK Antony spoke to DRDO Chief Dr VK Saraswat and Project Director Shri Avinash Chander and congratulated them for this immaculate success of Agni-V. Shri Antony described today’s development as a major milestone in the country’s Missile Programme and said the nation is indeed proud of its defence scientists. Shri Antony also recalled the untiring contributions of former DRDO Chief Mr Natrajan."

  1. Great moment! The moment millions of patriotic Indians were waiting for long! The most important moment since the Nuclear tests in 1998 at Pokran. Congrats DRDO. Keep it up.
